I can't find the widget metafields in the Translate & Adapt app
If you have enabled the following setting in the Advanced Preferences section to translate the widget texts using Shopify Translate & Adapt:
it is possible that you may not be able to find the Frequently Bought Together metafields in the Store Metadata section of the Shopify Translate & Adapt app. The Store Metadata section currently has a known limitation, since it does not display all the metafields created but only the first ones (currently, it only displays three pages of metafields). So, if your store has many metafields, it is very likely that the Frequently Bought Together metafields do not appear.
If that's the case, there are some alternative ways to create the widget texts translations:
- Use another compatible third-party translation app, such as T-Lab or Hextom, where you can find the Also Bought metafields and add the desired translations.
- Use a CSV file to import your Frequently Bought Together texts translations from the Shopify Admin.
Steps to export, translate and import the widget translations using a CSV file
Go to the Languages section in Shopify's admin settings, and click on Export
In the Export language dialog that opens, select the language you want to translate (or all of them):
and select Metafields as the content to export:
Open the file sent by email and look for each widget text in your default language.
For example, to translate the title from the English default language to the Spanish language, look for the "Frequently Bought Together" text and for the "es" locale, and add the translated text in column H ("Translate content"):
Then save changes and import the file:
If you have previously added widget texts translations, you must select the "Overwrite any existing translations for this language" option when importing the file.
Once the import process is complete, the translated title will be displayed in the widget:
Remember that you can also add personalized translations of the same language for different markets using the column called 'Markets':
