How can I configure a percentage discount for a manual bundle?
By default, the total price of the Frequently Bought Together items is the same price as if they were purchased separately.
However, if you want to encourage your customers to buy a particular bundle, you can configure different types of automatic discounts, including a percentage discount, to be applied to a manual bundle.
To configure it, just go to the app preferences page and look for the 'Manual bundles' section:
Then, look for the manual bundle to which you want to apply a discount, and click on 'See bundle':
Once inside, check the 'Add a discount for this bundle' option and select the 'Percentage' discount type:
Then, on the left side, you can configure the minimum bundle amount to apply a discount and the bundle discount percentage. On the right side, you can also configure the discount message that will be displayed in the Frequently Bought Together widget, and the discount applied message that will be displayed in the shopping cart when the discount is applied. If you want to configure the styling of these messages, it can be done in the 'Visual preferences' section.
Important notes
- The Shopify Discount system is quite limited. For example, generally no more than one discount can be applied to a single order.
- The Shopify Platform does not enforce all discount constraints regarding the products in the order. We advise you to review the related document 'Important implications about discounts' before enabling discounts in your store.
- The discount amount is deducted from the current product prices not from the original product prices which means that if one or more products are already on sale, the sale price is used to calculate the discount amount to deduct.
In the screenshot below, we can see a product with a regular price of $55.00 currently on sale at $48.90
The 10% discount is deducted from the sum of $48.90 + $90.00 + $98.00 = $236.90 : 10% discount of $236.90 = $23.69 : Bundle price with discount = $236.90 - $23.69 = $213.21
