How the analytics data are gathered?

Frequently Bought Together provides insightful analytics on how the app is performing in your store. You can use these insights to optimize your setup—for instance, by adjusting the Visual Styles or the widget's position within the Location section.

How data is gathered

The statistics are collected using JavaScript calls to our servers, or Shopify webhooks in the case of orders. While effective for trends, there are technical factors to consider:

  • Potential undercounting: If a browser has "Do not track" enabled or uses antivirus software/ad-blockers, the data collection may be blocked.
  • Potential overcounting: Some browsers may execute JavaScript calls to cache data in anticipation of customer behavior.

Despite these variables, the statistical value remains valid as the tracking works as expected for a considerable percentage of users.

Please do not treat these analytics as exact accounting figures. The module displays inferred statistical values meant to help you discover trends or compare performance with previous periods.

Data Calculation Rules

When analyzing your analytics, please keep the following rules in mind regarding what is and isn't included in the final numbers:

Discounts ❌ Excluded Coupons or price reductions are not shown.
Shipping Costs ❌ Excluded Only product value is tracked.
Order Modifications ❌ Excluded Post-purchase changes are not updated.
